Thank you for visiting my site. I am a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 49174).
I hold a Masters degree in Counseling from San Francisco State University and am specialized in providing disability and accomodation recommendations, with additional advanced training in the needs of deafened and hard-of-hearing people, and older adults. I also have extensive training in Jungian Sandplay Therapy.
I have worked for the Stanford Early Life Stress Research Program providing specialized trauma therapy to youth who may be suffering with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I am a highly trained specialist in short term trauma therapy for children (10-20 sessions).
As a former Care/Case Manager, I am skilled at in-home consultations and psychological evaluations for folks who have a hard time leaving their homes, such as older, frail or disabled adults. I can assess the home for safety concerns and make recommendations for adaptations so that a loved one can live more securely in their own home.
In addition to these specialties, I can consult with individuals, couples and families, and can assist with issues of grief and loss, spirituality, divorce, co-parenting, eating disorders, phobias, chronic pain, disabilities and loss of physical functioning and addictions. I also have experience in assisting persons who are struggling with issues of sexual or gender identity.
I also write a column for Half Moon Bay Patch on mental health issues and advocacy.
